HIGH POINT, SC – Feb. 3, 2015 – Caley Edgerly has been promoted to President and CEO of Thomas Built Buses (TBB) following the appointment of current President and CEO Kelley Platt to General Manager of Western Star.

Kelley Platt will remain in her current role until February 28, 2015. Edgerly will assume his new role March 1 and Platt will assume her new role on April 1, 2015.

Platt joined DTNA in 1989 as Freightliner Manager of Treasury services and played a crucial role in the company’s acquisition of both Western Star and Thomas Built Buses and served as General Manager of Business Excellence before joining TBB as President and CEO in 2010.  Under her guidance TBB has enjoyed great success, including two consecutive years of undisputed market leadership.

“I’d like to take a moment to thank the people at Thomas Built Buses.  The last five years have been truly special for me,” said Kelley Platt, outgoing President and CEO. “TBB will always be a place I hold dear.  I have no doubt in your ability to keep the momentum going and continue to lead the industry.  I know you’re in great hands with Caley.”

Succeeding Platt will be Caley Edgerly the current Vice President of Operations at TBB, a role he’s held since 2012.  Edgerly joined DDC in 1994 as a Quality Control Engineer. Since that time Edgerly has held many roles throughout DDC and DTNA.  He will usher TBB through its recently announced expansion and continue to build upon Thomas Built Buses’ position as the leading school bus manufacturer in North America.  Edgerly received his Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Michigan State University.

“The solid foundation developed by Kelley Platt has certainly created a bright future for Thomas Built Buses,” said Caley Edgerly, incoming President and CEO of Thomas Built Buses.  “We are very well positioned as we head into our next century of operation as the market leading school bus manufacturer.  Behind our great products are great people, and I am personally excited to see what successes our team will achieve going forward.”
