High Point, N.C. – December 22, 2014 – Thomas Built Buses and its employees made a significant donation to a local community nonprofit this holiday season.

Thomas Built employees came together to contribute enough money to purchase more than 180 new bicycles for needy children in the area. The bicycles were presented to the local High Point Salvation Army December 15.

In addition to the bicycle donation, Thomas Built Buses is hosting toy and money drives for the Salvation Army and the United Way.  Employee and company donations currently total nearly $175,000 and more than 500 toys, with more donations, toys and bicycles coming in through the end of the year.

“The way our employees rallied together to make such a significant contribution to our community is truly inspiring,” said Kelley Platt, president and CEO of Thomas Built Buses.  “Giving back and building a better community are always important values at Thomas Built Buses.  It warms my heart to see our employees demonstrate these values and help our High Point community this holiday season.”
