Thomas Built Institute Updates Bus Maintenance Skills May 11-14, 2010

Hands-on Workshop Keeps Technicians and Vehicles Up to Speed

High Point, N.C. – The fleet technicians who maintain Thomas Built buses take their responsibilities very seriously. And once again Thomas is doing its part by offering the Thomas Built Institute, a training designed to complement school district maintenance programs.

“It’s tough enough to inspect, maintain, diagnose and repair bus and chassis systems on school buses from delivery to 20 years old,” said Mike Stotler, service education manager for Thomas Built Buses. “And then you add the challenges of constantly changing technology. The institute offers technicians extensive, hands-on training and first-hand experience in small classes, all in less than a week’s time.”

The 2010 institute curriculum includes:

  • 2010 Emissions System
  • Advanced Electrical
  • Type C: Multiplex, Service Link & Troubleshooting
  • Type D: Electrical & Fan Drive
  • Coolant, Maintenance & Cost Savings
  • Utilizing Websites, Resources & Wire Diagrams
  • Factory tours

To register for the 2010 Thomas Built Institute May 11-14, visit www.thomasbus.com. Early enrollment is recommended, with registration limited to 100 participants to ensure small class sizes and personal attention.

The training is $250 and includes lunch and ground transportation. Participants will receive a certificate of completion for 28 credit hours of continuing education.
