California

In the state of California, the following EV bus funds are currently available.

Monterey Bay Air Resources District (MBARD)

  • $1.2 million in funding for the replacement of diesel engines, installation of charging equipment and purchase or lease of electric school buses
  • Up to $220K per Saf-T-Liner® C2 Jouley® electric school bus purchase

PG&E EV Fleet Program

  • $236 million in funding for electric school bus infrastructure costs
  • $9k per electric school bus for EV infrastructure costs or 50% coverage on EV charger costs

SDAPCD Proposition 1B 2022 Emission Reduction Program (GMERP)

  • $1.6 million in total funding is available for all eligible projects
  • Up to $200K per vehicle and the lower of 50% or $30K per charger

Commercial Charger Incentive Program Pasadena Water and Power

  • $3K rebate for each charging port is available
  • A double-incentive bonus of up to $6K for the installation of DC Fast Charging or Level 2 charging is also available for selected sites

Sacramento County Incentive Project

  • $15.5 million in rebates for the purchase and installation of eligible Electric Vehicle chargers
  • Up to $80K per DC fast charger in Disadvantaged Communities or 80% of total project cost, whichever is less

Alameda County Incentive Project

  • $17.3 million in available incentive funds for the purchase and installation of eligible electric vehicle chargers

Northern California Incentive Project

  • $4 million in available funds for the purchase and installation of eligible Electric Vehicle chargers
  • Up to $80K per DC fast charger in Disadvantaged Communities or 80% of total project cost, whichever is less

Central Coast Incentive Project

  • $7 million in available funds for the purchase and installation of eligible Electric Vehicle chargers
  • Up to $80K per DC fast charger in Disadvantaged Communities or 80% of total project cost, whichever is less

San Joaquin Valley Incentive Project

  • $15.3 million in available funds for the purchase and installation of eligible Electric Vehicle chargers

The Carl Moyer Memorial Air Quality Standards Attainment Program

  • $60 Million maximum solicitation funding
  • Maximum applicant funding is $410K

EnergIIZE Commercial Vehicles

  • $16 million maximum solicitation funding for charging infrastructure

Act now–these grants could expire soon. Funds are available on a first come, first served basis. In addition, the following incentives are currently available in the U.S.

EPA’s Clean School Bus Program

  • The next round of funds will be announced by the EPA soon
  • In the coming months, an additional $1 billion in funds will become available for clean school buses in 2023
