HIGH POINT, N.C. – July 27, 2017 – With the back-to-school season in full swing, Thomas Built Buses, the leading manufacturer of school buses, has launched a back to school – school bus safety campaign. The campaign features a fun video and downloadable safety instructions for parents and teachers to share with students. 

“School buses are the safest way to get to and from school.  In fact, riding a school bus is 13 times safer than riding in the family vehicle. But, unfortunately, accidents involving school buses still happen, many of them occurring while students are getting on or off a bus,” said Caley Edgerly, president and CEO of Thomas Built Buses.  “School bus safety is a very serious issue that is extremely important to us.  Since most school bus related accidents happen OUTSIDE the bus, we found it imperative to educate students on how to be safe in and around a school bus.”
 The safety campaign features a video with a humorous dialogue between a bus driver, a teacher and students on school bus rules, a conversation envisioned by children but acted out by adults.
