In today’s school transportation environment, fuel decisions are no longer just about vehicle preference. They are shaped by regulation, infrastructure, funding, operations, and community expectations—often all at once.

The problem is real.
Every school day, an estimated 218,000 drivers illegally pass stopped school buses.* That’s more than just a number. It’s a real risk to students getting on and off the bus.
So, we’re saying what needs to be said.
That’s why we’re bringing back our If You Pass campaign, an initiative designed to get people talking about illegal school bus passing and remind drivers of one simple rule:
When the bus stops, you stop.
Why say it this way?
School bus safety is serious. But sometimes a polite reminder isn’t enough. The If You Pass message says what school bus drivers, transportation professionals and parents are already thinking when someone ignores a stopped school bus.
What’s at stake?
School buses are designed with safety in mind. But the people who operate them can’t control every driver sharing the road. When a bus stops to pick up or drop off students, passing it illegally can put children directly in harm’s way. Changing that starts with getting more people to pay attention.
Make the message harder to miss.
The campaign doesn’t stop with a message. You can help put it out into the world. Wear it. Share it. Start a conversation. Help remind drivers everywhere that stopping for a school bus isn’t optional.
Help support a school making a difference.
Your support can do more than spread the word. Campaign proceeds will help support a school or school district working to raise awareness about school bus safety.
