An inside look at how Peach State Truck Centers is building a stronger business by investing in its people.

Today’s heavy-truck and bus sales marketplace is constantly changing. Customers have more complex needs, higher expectations and less time than ever before. At Peach State Truck Centers (PSTC), we’re responding by delivering a better experience—one born from a culture-driven vision of success. We’re dedicated to empowering our employees and treating everyone like a part of the family.
Unique by Design
There’s something a little different about PSTC. You notice it the first time you enter a location or talk to someone on the phone. It’s an attitude, a willingness to help and an authenticity that comes through every interaction. The best part is that it’s real. Our employees have a genuine desire to be helpful and take pride in doing so.
One of the most unique parts of our culture is that we intentionally create an environment where employees are empowered to lead, contribute and grow regardless of title or tenure. We’re committed to making a positive difference in the lives of others. That mission influences how we serve customers, support our teams and build long-term success.
Although we have15 locations across Georgia and Alabama, we operate like a close-knit family business. Led by PSTC owner and president Rick Reynolds, we have a culture designed to make customers and employees feel like part of the family.
“Our ‘why’ has always been to make a positive difference in the lives of others,” explains Reynolds. “Our employees bring that purpose to life every time they greet a customer, support a teammate or go the extra mile when no one is watching.”
People-First Progress
One of the strongest examples of our culture is our commitment to employee engagement. We believe the people closest to the work often have the best ideas.
Through programs like our Employee Empowerment Program (PEEPS), team members across departments are encouraged to identify opportunities to improve their workplace, elevate the employee experience and strengthen operations at the local level. This creates more than better facilities—it builds trust, accountability and pride.
Designed to ensure our entire workforce is involved and engaged through ownership of their work environment, each of our facilities manages its own PEEPS program. Any employee can submit a suggestion to enhance their facility’s workplace, and a cross-sectional committee of employees from each major department reviews them and recommends which enhancements to implement. Later, we follow up with surveys to measure the impact on employees and the customer experience.
Next Generation Leadership
Another defining part of the PSTC culture is our belief that employee development is the foundation of an inspired and engaged workforce. Our High Potential Program (HiPo) identifies employees who consistently go above and beyond, demonstrate initiative and show strong potential for long-term growth. By investing in these individuals early, we help them grow beyond their current roles and prepare for future opportunities while creating a sustainable leadership pipeline for our business.
Our PSTC Business School provides cross-functional education in key dealership operations ranging from financial foundations and service management to parts and truck sales. The program is designed to develop emerging leaders while preparing them to think beyond individual departments and make decisions that benefit the entire organization.
To inspire senior managers to think outside the box, PSTC took the team to Disney World® to study the magic behind its renowned service and learn what makes the Disney experience so memorable that visitors want to return. Key findings they brought home to implement included Disney’s differentiation of “back stage” and “front stage” guest interactions and its commitment to making every visitor feel important.
Keys to Success
Throughout our organization, we embrace the core standards of safety, courtesy, performance, and efficiency. These four principles shape how we operate, interact with customers and support one another internally. Employees who exemplify these standards by providing exceptional quality of service for customers and colleagues earn the honored title of KEY Holder.
Initiatives like the KEY Holder Program reinforce these standards by empowering frontline employees to model excellence, mentor peers, provide feedback and help strengthen consistency across the organization. What I appreciate most about this approach is that accountability is reinforced peer to peer, reinforcing a culture where excellence becomes a shared responsibility.
Recognition is an important part of emphasizing who we are and what we value. Whether honoring long-term service milestones or naming the Employee of the Year, our annual awards events acknowledge employees who make meaningful contributions. This includes more unique awards for Leader of the Year, Excellence in Innovation, Customer Experience, and Employee Experience.
Getting Personal
Programs like our GRACE Fund demonstrate how PSTC is more than a workplace; it’s a community. This grant program helps employees facing emergencies and unexpected personal, medical or financial hardships. It’s a voluntary corporate assistance program that employees can donate to through a voluntary payroll deduction, with every dollar matched by PSTC. The confidential process is managed by an external agency that evaluates the applications, verifies eligibility and makes grant decisions. Perhaps one of the most meaningful reflections of our exceptional corporate culture, the program enables employees to support one another during life’s most difficult times.
At the end of the day, while operational excellence is important, what truly sets us apart is our unwavering belief that great companies are built by investing in people. We’ve seen firsthand that when people feel heard and valued, they become deeply invested in the organization’s success. Together, we make our mission real every day through the care, dedication and service we provide to our customers and colleagues.
